The farmers of the Arkhonskoye farm in North Ossetia will expand Russia's largest asparagus plantation by another 40 hectares, the project investor Valery Revazov said.
Last year, the farm received Dutch asparagus seedlings and planted them on an area of 15 hectares. Currently, there is a harvest of the first crop. At the same time, the farm is preparing a plot for planting asparagus on another 40 hectares. Landing is scheduled to begin in two weeks.

Today, the North Ossetian plantation is the largest in the Russian Federation. There are small areas for growing this crop near Nizhny Novgorod (6 hectares) and near Moscow (8 hectares), Valery Revazov shared information. 
35 million rubles, or $ 546,700, were invested in the project to grow asparagus in North Ossetia. The crop from planted asparagus can be obtained for 10-12 years. According to Revazov, culture will fully pay for itself in 5 years. The farm plans to sell the crop in the markets of Moscow and North Ossetia.
