Flamingo Tomato F1: variety description

Tomato "Flamingo F1" is a hybrid of the first generation. The plant according to some sources is semi-determinant. These varieties have a height of up to 100 cm and above, but do not require particularly careful maintenance. Stamps do not form.

Unlike a variety, hybrids are displayed with the most qualitative characteristics (size, taste, yield, storage) and with the highest percentage of resistance to diseases and bad weather conditions. The only negative sign of a hybrid is the inability of its seeds to produce good offspring - the fruit can be very different from the parent fruit.

Stem resistant, bristly, moderately lined, grows above 1 m, some experts advise pinching the tops over the fifth inflorescence (usually determinant plants do not need this). Brushes of simple type - the average number. Rhizome powerful, well developed in different directions without deepening.

The leaves are large, typical "tomato", light green, slightly wrinkled, without pubescence. The inflorescence is simple, intermediate type. The first inflorescence forms over an 8–9 leaf (which is not typical for a determinant plant), then it forms with an interval of 1–2 leaves. Stem with articulation.

By the time of ripening, the plant is more medium-sized; after full germination only 115 days pass, the fruits begin to ripen. "Flamingo" has a high degree of resistance to most diseases: cladosporia, verticelez, tobacco mosaic, fusarium, nematode (and its species). Suitable for open and closed ground.

Features of growing

The hybrid is developed for cultivation in any territory of the Russian Federation. More favorable for these tomatoes - Central regions and Eastern regions. At the level of planting seeds, semi-determinant tomatoes are no different. Seeds need to be disinfected in a weak solution of potassium permanganate. Some gardeners use a solution with a certain amount of suds to disinfect.

The soil is loamy or sandy loam also treated with a disinfecting solution, heated to 25 degrees. In mid-March, seeds are planted in a total capacity to a depth of no more than 2 cm, the distance between the plants is about 2 cm. The newly planted seeds are watered and covered with polyethylene to form a certain moisture. The temperature during germination needs about 25 degrees.

At emergence of shoots polyethylene is removed. The pick is made after the appearance of 2 leaves. A pick (transfer to separate containers) is required! With a common root system, plants develop only up to a certain point, then it is necessary to develop an individual rhizome.

At the age of plants about 60 days can be transplanted into the ground. Plants by this time should be hardened and reach about 25 cm. The overgrowth of seedlings in semi-determinant tomatoes is not permissible, it is impossible to plant flowering seedlings into the ground!

The temperature after transplantation should be above 15 degrees. Otherwise, the consequences - short stature. Planting at a distance of about 50 cm. Watering under the bush with warm water is abundant, not often. Feed every 2 weeks with mineral fertilizers. Loosening, weeding as needed.

The bush is formed in 2 stalks, about 8 fruits are left on the brushes. Masking is not required. Tying up separate branches to vertical trellis as needed.

Diseases and pests

Disinfection of seeds and soil is carried out for the cupping of diseases on the vine. They carry out preventive spraying with microbiological preparations against diseases and pests several times during a season.

Variety of tomato "Flamingo F1" - one of the best semi-determinant Russian tomatoes, do not require special attention to themselves and bring excellent yield. We wish you excellent harvests on your plots!
