The sprayer equipped with artificial intelligence was tested by American researchers. According to the developers, the plant recognition system will help farmers reduce the use of pesticide fertilizers by 70%.
The unique technology was presented by scientists of the University of Tennessee (USA). They admitted that they had developed an innovative sprayer based on the Smart Guided Systems system.
“The intelligent system that recognizes the type of plants and determines how much fertilizer to spray in a particular area consists of sensors and lasers,” the developers say. “The sprayer is also equipped with nozzles that determine the size of the plant, the shape of its leaves, and their density. We are confident that using our field crop sprayer will allow farmers to reduce fertilizer costs by an average of $ 600 per hectare of land.
To date, the sprayer had time to successfully test in American gardens, but the developers emphasize that in the field this device is no less effective.
“We have already obtained a license for our sprayer,” the inventors from Tennessee proudly say. “The second stage of the tests will end only in 2020, but our offspring will be available in a few months!”
