Japanese beets as a way to attract a tourist audience

In the restaurant of the city Himeji are going to serve beet dishes, thereby improving international relations between Russia and Japan. But growing there will not be the usual beetroot, but the red one that Russian prisoners of war grew up during the Russian-Japanese war, which occurred even during the existence of the Russian Empire.

According to the residents of Himeji, they began to grow beets two years ago, but now they want to turn it into a symbol of the city, a tourist attribute. The town-planning organization of the city of Himeji prepared a special map for tourists, which marked places near Himeji Castle, where there was a prisoner of war camp and a school field. It is expected that the coverage of the unknown aspect of relations with Russia will attract tourists to the country.
