"Gourmet" refers to the "color" species potatoes with medium early ripening.
The vegetation period lasts for 75 - 80 days from the moment of the appearance of the first shoots.
It was created relatively recently in Ukraine by breeding several other varieties (detailed information on its selection is not being distributed yet), it has not yet been included in the State Register of the Russian Federation.
However, this does not prevent many gardeners from growing it on their plots in different regions today.

Truly a variety of potatoes "Gourmet" from many other varieties, distinguish tubers. No matter how surprising it may sound, but their skin has a dark purple color and a rather dense thickness. Externally, the fruits of "Gourmet" more resemble beets than regular potatoes.
Only their elongated oval shape gives out belonging to the latter. The eyes are rare and have a surface landing. Tubers grow to medium size, the weight of a single commodity tuber is usually 90 - 110 g.

If we talk about the agrotechnical features of the plant, then first of all it is worth noting that it is suitable for growing in temperate or arid climatic conditions.
This is due to the fact that he demanding of warm weather (temperature below 10 ° C will adversely affect the plant) and enough moisture in the soil.
Therefore, if the rain on your site was not long ago, then get ready for manual irrigation. Soils "Gourmet" prefers sandy, peaty and low loamy. For planting, it is better to select larger tubers and plant them according to the 60 x 30 scheme (the distance between the rows is 60 cm, and between the planting material in the rows is 30 cm). The depth of the digging should be about 5 - 10 cm.
