Breeds of white cows

Auliekol

Injection history: In 1962, in Kazakhstan, breeders decided to create a kind of beef cattle, not inferior to the requirements of world standards for meat and productivity. To do this, they conducted a series of crosses of individuals of the following breeds:

  • Kazakh white-headed,
  • Charolais,
  • angeur

As a result, in 1992, the auliekol breed was approved, and in 2016 there were already a livestock of more than 10 thousand individuals.

Appearance: Auliekol cows have combined the qualities of three original breeds:

External characteristics of bulls and females of auliekol breed:

  • muscular and massive physique;
  • strong bones;
  • chest girth - 2 m 44 cm;
  • large head on a short neck;
  • height at withers: for males - 141 cm, for females - 130 cm;
  • five-layer skin (in other species - 3-layer);
  • knocked down and short light gray wool, the bulls are going to harness on the forehead;
  • body weight of a bull - over 1 ton, calves - up to 950 kg;
  • animals horny (70%).

Productive qualities: Auliekol cows have high productivity, their milk is famous for its delicate taste:

  1. Feeds during lactation - up to 25 kg / day.
  2. Milk fat - 3,8-4%.
  3. The earliness of weight gain - 1095 g / day.
  4. The meat after slaughter - 305 kg (60-63%).

Injection history: This type of white cows - meat, bred in 1962 by French scientists in Aquitaine (south-west France) due to selection using three local breeds:

  • color white-fawn or light brown;
  • a long, knocked down body with pronounced muscles and with a small amount of fat deposits;
  • chest broad, back has a straight line;

  • durable and elastic skin;
  • long and wide, muscled pelvis;
  • height at withers - 140 cm;
  • light head and broad forehead;
  • weight: male - 1 t 500 kg, females - over 800 kg.

Productive qualities: Aquitaine cows are considered late ripening, so they have excellent fattening characteristics and performance:

  1. Feeds for the year - 11 thousand kg.
  2. Milk fat - 5,1%.
  3. The earliness of weight gain - 1400-1500 g / day.
  4. The meat after slaughter - 69%.

Charolais

Injection history: Charolais cows have a 200-year history - as early as the 18th century, French breeders wanted to breed individuals with increased body mass and precocity. For this they used the following breeds:

  • cows from the French region of Charolais,
  • Simental males,
  • short horn bulls.

Today it is one of the most sought-after breeds, not only in France, but also far beyond its borders.

Important! Representatives of Charolais are demanding for a large volume of feed, so the herders point out the very high efficiency of feeding them.

Appearance Charolais cows:

  • color: in bulls - dark gray, in chicks - white or gray, calves - snow white;
  • body type: large, muscular, with a small layer of fat;
  • body length - 2.2 m;
  • wide back;
  • powerful chest, 1.9 m in girth;
  • height at withers - 163-165 cm (males), females - 130-155 cm;
  • males weighing up to 1 t 500 kg, females - 1 t 100 kg;
  • horns and hooves - wax color.

Productive qualities: due to the robust immunity, the charolais sapholes rarely suffer from viral diseases, so they have persistent survival and good characteristics:

  1. Feeds for the year - 2700-3900 kg (almost completely used for feeding calves).
  2. Milk fat milk - 4,1%.

Belgian Blue Cow

Injection history: Towards the end of the 19th century, Belgian breeders made efforts to improve the quality of meat and dairy productivity of local animals, using manufacturers of the following breeds:

  • Shorthorn,
  • some meat french.

With the help of selection, large animals with a low planted body were born. Then, in the middle of the twentieth century, breeders blocked the gene that inhibits muscle development, and also strengthened meat indicators, thanks to which modern individuals have highly developed muscles.

Appearance: Belgian blue cows have the following physical characteristics:

  • calm and balanced temperament;
  • powerful, elongated muscular body with rounded and pronounced muscles of the rump, shoulders, neck and waist;
  • straight back;
  • thin skin;
  • the minimum coat is bluish, gray-speckled, snow-white, sometimes black-reddish;
  • strong, straight, low legs;
  • height at withers: male - 150 cm, female - 140 cm;
  • horned animals;
  • weight: bulls - from 1 t 100 kg to 1 t 250 kg, cows - 850-900 kg.

Kostroma breed of cows

Injection history: Kostroma breed appeared in the XIX century in the Kostroma region. The following manufacturers were used in the selection:

  • Kholmogorsky
  • Wilstermarch,
  • Simmental,
  • Ayrshire
  • brown shvitsky.

Selective work was carried out until the early 1940s, the result of which was the dairy-meat variety.

Appearance: Kostroma cows have the following characteristics:

  • color - light brown and brown, on the ridge - pale yellow;

Jersey light

Injection history: This is an ancient breed of dairy cattle, named after the island of Jersey in the English Channel. There is no exact information about the origin. Today, Jersey light cows are widely recognized in North America, Africa and New Zealand. Appearance: Jersey cows are as follows:

  • long proportional torso;
  • concave back;
  • small head with a short facial bone and a concave profile;
  • thin folded neck;
  • deep and narrow chest;
  • improperly planted croup with a raised base of the tail;
  • large bowl-shaped udder;
  • light brown or reddish color;
  • in bulls: legs and neck darker, back with a black stripe;
  • weight: 600-750 kg for a bull, 400-450 kg for a cow;
  • height at withers - 120 cm.

Productive qualities: Jersey breed milk production is high, the product is of good quality, has a pleasant smell and taste. Other features:

  1. Milk quantity per year - in the period of lactation from 4000 to 11000 l.
  2. Milk fat - 4,5-5%.
  3. The earliness of weight gain - 600 g / day.
  4. Meat yield - 40%. Breed for meat is almost never used.

Important! According to farmers, in a high-yielding cow, the torso should expand towards the rear. If it is the shape of the body like a bull - do not wait for high yields from it.

Kazakh white-headed breed of cows

Injection history: Kazakh white-headed cows were bred in the 1930s by breeders from South-Eastern Russia and Kazakhstan. For breeding were used breed:

  • Hereford
  • Kazakh local,
  • Kalmyk.

As a result, the Kazakh white-headed cattle combines the enhanced beef characteristics of the herefords with the stamina and adaptability of aboriginal cows. Appearance: Kazakh white-headed female cow looks like this:

Ayrshire white with brown spots

Inference history The breed begins in the second half of the 18th century. In the Ayshirsky county of South-West Scotland for its creation used individuals of the following breeds:

  • Tisvaterskoy,
  • Dutch
  • Shorthorn,
  • Hyland
  • Devonian
  • Hereford.

By the XIX century, the breed had a brown-white color.
